— Diego Calvo highlighted the union between Galicia and Brittany, as well as other territories, in as many areas as possible
A Estrada, March 10th 2023. The Second Vice-President and Regional Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Sport, Diego Calvo, participated via videoconference in a meeting with the President of the Brittany region, Loïg Chesnais-Girard, and with representatives of Ireland, Scotland and Wales, to discuss possible ways for Galicia to collaborate with these territories that share history, culture and traditions.
The meeting, which was also attended by the Director General for External Relations and the EU, Jesús Gamallo, addressed the debate and exchange of policies in favour of the creation of new links. Fundación Galicia Europa, the representation of the Galician regional government in Brussels, had an active role in the organization and coordination of the leaders of the Celtic regions.
Diego Calvo highlighted the link between Galicia and Brittany, as well as the other territories, which is why he stressed the importance of strengthening inter-Celtic cooperation in as many areas as possible. In this way, it is a matter of joining forces to optimise the use of heritage, common resources and a shared vision of the future, and -as the Second Vice-President explained- to turn the union of these territories into a driving force for sustainable development, prosperity and well-being for their populations.
